Community Events
Throughout the season the New York Lawn Bowling Club hosts a variety of community events in support of local not-for-profit organizations, Central Park Conservancy groups and the general public interested in lawn bowling.
After a day's work a number of healthcare workers from Mt. Sinai Hospital joined the New York Lawn Bowling Club on the greens for an evening of bowling and socializing. Organized by Club member Ryan Hastu, himself a health professional, this annual occasion is one modest way that the Club and its members show their appreciation for the hard and faithful work undertaken by these and other health professionals throughout New York.
"Adaptations is a dynamic, supportive, social community for adults at the Jack and Shirley Silver Center for Special Needs (CSN) at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan. Through structured social/recreational and employment programs, Adaptations provides multiple pathways to fostering independence, finding a passion, and experiencing the richness of community."
The New York Lawn Bowling Club is always happy to welcome members of Adaptations to lawn bowling on the green. The inaugural event was held in 2021 and Adaptations members enjoyed it so much that they visited again in 2022 and 2023. Members of both groups mingle, play and relish their time together. Adaptations and New York Lawn Bowling Club - two more passionate groups of bowlers and lovers of the green cannot be found!
